try to access \\host\share1 returns 0x80004005 error
Hello, having trouble using network shares since short time on a windows 7 prof. PC. I can see other Win7 PC's, but nor our NAS (readnas running linux) neither our winXP or Win2k machines. Access to any share from that PC's is not possible and returns the error 0x80004005. Doing it the opposite way i.e. from w2k access to that particular win7 PC works fine. This problem appeared all over the sudden while Windows tried to run a sceduled backup. After investigating what info is available on the WWW and trying the proposed solutions without success i finally ask here for help. All IP based things including internet work fine. Also from W2k or XP i can reach and use shares from the windows 7 PC. Windows Updates are active. Nothing was changed in the network and on the PC's since the problem showed up. All PC's and NAS use the same workgroup name. Used wireshark to see what is going on the network. The machine that doesn't work sends only smb Host anouncements with server typ flags 0x1003 and 0x1001. No smb negotiation is following. The PC never asks for network user/pwd. Although i have deleted the stored credentials tresor info for the share. Q1: Now my question, how can i solve this issue? Q2: Is it possible to completly remove all Network adapter and protocol settings and start a fresh configuration?
